Reference Service

This service provides guidance on how to search for materials and information, and how to use materials held by other universities and institutions .

Please consult with us at the reference counter.
You can reserve in-person or online reference consultation through My DOORS “Reference Service Reservation”.
Those who have their User ID of Doshisha University account can consult us via the online form レファレンス相談フォーム as well.

Lecture / Examination Weeks------Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.
No-Lecture / Recess Weeks------ Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Consultation on how to search for materials and information

Depending on the content of your consultation, it may take several days to respond. Please also refer to Useful Links .

Example of Consultation*

  • How to use DOORS or DOGS Plus
  • How to use databases
  • How to use materials at each location and by each document type
  • How to find materials, literature and data on a specific topic    etc.

*We will not be able to answer any of the following questions.
  • Answers to study assignments, etc.
  • Research and surveys in place of the user
  • Compiling a comprehensive bibliography
  • Deciphering, annotating, translating, and excerpting literature
  • Personal, legal, medical, and medication consultations
  • Search for materials, articles, etc. that are inaccessible by ordinary search methods
  • Other questions deemed beyond the scope of reference services

Consultation on how to use materials held by other universities and institutions

To use materials held by other universities or institutions, you may need apply through the Library. Please consult with us at the reference counter.
Those who have their User ID of Doshisha University account can consult us via the online form 閲覧申込みフォーム as well.
