About the New Library Project at Imadegawa Campus
Notice
The Imadegawa Library, which has been used by many patrons for about 50 years since its completion in December 1973,
has aging facilities and equipment, is inadequate for earthquake resistance and diversity, such as barrier-free
access, and has cramped stacks. In order to provide a more fulfilling place for study and research, the Imadegawa
Library will be closed from mid-August 2023 and
reconstructed as part of Doshisha's 150th anniversary project (university construction project). The new library is
planned to be completed in fall 2026.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Please check this site regularly for the detailed schedule and other information as it becomes available.

Services during the construction of the new library
During the construction of the new library, library functions will be moved to the first floor and the basement floor of the Neiseikan Building.
Basic services such as borrowing and returning books and reference services will be provided, as well as various spaces such as a reading room, periodicals corner, and reference book corner, for the convenience of all users.
The library also has a stack on the first basement floor of the Hakuenkan Building to store as many materials as possible on the Imadegawa Campus for use.
For materials that cannot be stored on campus, we will use off-campus storage and a material delivery system to ensure access to materials.
